Chosen
Children Ministry’s Casa Mephibosheth orphanage is located
in Juigalpa, Nicaragua. Constructed in 2001 by mission
teams with contracted local laborers, Casa Mephibosheth is
home to over 25 children of varying ages.
Children residing at Casa Mephibosheth are provided housing,
regular and well balanced meals, and health care.
In addition to assuring that each child is enrolled in a
local school, vocational school is now available for some of
our older teen children. They are learning new trades such
as cosmetology and auto mechanics. CCM also offers weekly
sewing classes and the children have access to an onsite
computer lab where they can learn basic computing skills.
It is our desire to educate all the children to the best of
our ability so that once they reach adulthood, they will be
adequately prepared for their future.
Because Chosen Children Ministries is greatly concerned
about the spiritual health of each child, the Casa
Mephibosheth staff conducts daily Bible devotional classes
with all of the children. Additionally, the staff conducts
weekly discipleship classes.
The needs of the children living at Casa Mephibosheth are
met through Sponsorship and General Ministry donations. It
costs approximately $250 per child each month to meet all of
the basic needs. Costs can be higher if the child has
severe physical or emotional needs.
Chosen Children Ministries is excited that construction is
currently underway for the girls' rooms and library. Once
these rooms are complete we will need to furnish them with
new beds, dressers, and other furniture and necessities.
We are also collecting Spanish materials for the library and
hope to eventually add on another computer room. Plans are
underway to begin a second language class to teach the
children English.
