Many children in Nicaragua live in orphanages, on the streets, or in remote villages where work for their parents is almost impossible to find.  God is using Chosen Children Ministries’ (CCM) child sponsorship program to provide for the needs of many of these children.  Through CCM’s sponsorship program, churches and individuals have the opportunity to bless and better the lives of children, one child at a time. 

As a child sponsor through Chosen Children Ministries, you can sponsor a child in our Casa Mephibosheth orphanage, owned and operate by CCM , or you can sponsor a child in a village or barrio.  When you become a child sponsor you will receive biographical information and a picture of your child.  By becoming a child sponsor, you can help a child with their daily basic needs of food, clothing, and education.  By praying for your child and sending them letters, you can also become a significant factor in the spiritual and emotional development of your sponsored child’s life. 

Sponsoring A Child At Casa Mephibosheth Orphanage
 

Casa Mephibosheth is an orphanage owned and operated by Chosen Children Ministries.  Children come to live at Casa Mephibosheth for many reasons.  Sometimes these children have been abused, exploited, are in danger of being abused, their family suffers from extreme poverty and cannot properly care for them, or there is no one to care for them because their parents are in jail. 

When you sponsor a child in our orphanage, your funds go to the orphanage as a whole.  Your support will provide food, clothing, shelter, education, and weekly discipleship classes.  As children as Casa Mephibosheth become able and mature enough, CCM also provides vocational classes to help the children learn a trade and prepare for adulthood.

Sponsoring A Child In A Barrio
Remote villages called barrios are located throughout Nicaragua.  Children living with their families in these barrios often live in homes made of scrap wood, plastic, or cardboard and have very little food.   Some children are unable to attend school because their parents cannot afford to purchase the required school uniforms or because they are left at home alone to care for younger siblings.
 

When you sponsor a child in a barrio you not only provide for them, but for their entire family.  Each month your sponsored child’s family will receive a food bag.  School supplies and clothing will also be purchased if needed.  Since extreme poverty is experienced throughout the barrios, CCM assigns one sponsor per household in order to help as many families as possible.
 

Sharing The Love Of Jesus Christ

Chosen Children Ministries (CCM) is about much more than food and clothing.  Our main purpose is to teach and share the love of Jesus Christ.  There is a Nicaraguan expression that says, “Hungry stomachs have no ears.”  Once CCM addresses the immediate physical needs of children in Nicaragua’s orphanages and barrios, our next step is to feed them with the nourishment that gives them eternal life and hope for the future.  CCM missionaries and mission teams work to sow the Word of God into the hearts of the children and help them recognize the potential they have when they surrender to a life in Christ.  The very children who live in orphanages and barrios can be the generation that makes a difference! These children can be the future disciples who move from poverty to an abundant life in Christ.
